To the nonnie who wanted tips on starting a book blog

I can’t seem to get the app to post my reply, so:

Hey nonnie!

Pick a name! Important. Secondly, an icon.

Now, this is YOUR blog. You don’t have to have a theme. It’s okay if you do, it’s okay if you don’t. A lot of book blogs (including my main one!) are dumpster fires, we freely admit it. It doesn’t have to be JUST books, either.

Get x-kit, if you use a computer. You can so easily queue things!! And blacklist and tag and just. It’s beautiful, okay?

If you want it to be nothing but vampire books, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Adult thriller books? That’s awesome! Pink and green books only? Sure, why not? It’s up to you.

You should think about if you want to do book reviews, and how you want to do them if you do. A lot of people have a unique way of doing them, and it’s fun to read them.

If you have a goodreads account, link it. If you DON’T have one, check it out! It’s pretty cool.

Do you use Instagram? Bookstagram is pretty cool! And you can make pretty pictures of books and then share them on tumblr!

Also, talk to people! Don’t be afraid of ‘big blogs’. They’re friendly! Talk to everyone!

And finally, this is the most important part, have fun.

❤️

Dear littlesbookblog,
What's your best example of correlation not equaling causation?

If you had to buy another edition of Harry Potter what would you get? The boxed set Bloomsbury edition or the Scholastic special edition with Hogwarts castle on the spines? It’s hard to choose between the two when they’re both so beautiful!!!

That feeling when you’re near the end of a book and you already have your next book lined up. Warm and fuzzies.

Wanting to re-read a book/series you love every time you see a fan post about it but having so many other books to read that haven’t been read yet
